Camp Douglas offers comfortable sleeping accommodations and a beautiful waterfront setting. We have a
spacious kitchen stocked with all necessary cooking dishes, serving dishes and cutlery. It has a gas stove,
industrial rotating toaster and an industrial dishwasher that are all easy to use. All your group needs to
bring is the food to eat, or if you would prefer, inquire about a cook for your group to be supplied by
Camp Douglas.
Our camp offers rental availability for church retreats, school, business and private retreats. It is
ideal for the use of community organizations, the Scouting and Guiding movements, school activities and
field trips, business retreats or conferences, as well as family getaways and reunions.
All buildings at the camp have heat and electricity. We offer a retreat centre with six rooms that can
accommodate three people per room. Each room has its own heat control. Washroom and shower facilities are
located on the same floor. This building is wheelchair accessible.
We also offer eight cabins each of which has five bunk beds, or sleeping accommodations for ten. These
are located across the playing field from the main building. The main building is where the main washrooms
and showers are located. There are also two large meeting rooms for your seminars and activities. We also
have a private cabin with three private rooms and washroom facilities that sleeps five people. This cabin
has regular beds and mattresses in it and is often used for those who snore (to keep them out of the main
cabins!)
For recreation, we have a beautiful nature trail running through the woods at the back of the property
which many groups use as part of traditional games such as Capture the Flag. We have a large open field
for your choice of activity, such as soccer, volleyball or baseball. We also have a large waterfront with
miles of shoreline to explore.
We have a large outdoor chapel that seats 120 people as well as two outdoor campfire pits and an indoor
fireplace in the dining hall. Chopped firewood is provided for your group's convenience.
Camp Douglas is ideal for your church retreat - we offer a unique atmosphere that allows your
congregation, youth group or other group to enjoy the natural surroundings of God's beauty. Our site
offers many locations for private meditation as well as both indoor and outdoor meeting places. The peace
and tranquility will allow you and your group to experience the Lord's creation in one of its purest forms. Our facility is set up to make your retreat as easy as possible. All you need to bring is your bedding and food, and maybe a flashlight if you want to explore the beach or woods at night!
