Today we would like to give you a little look behind the scenes at Camp Douglas! Today we are featuring our graphic designer -- Danika "Schmauzer" Maust.
Danika took some time to answer a few questions about what she does for Camp Douglas!
Thanks Danika! We love your work!
1. When and how were you involved with Camp Douglas?
I've been around for quite awhile. I went to Camp Douglas for 13 years starting at age 7. I went from enthusiastic camper, to quirky LIT, volunteer, cabin leader, program staff, committee member and now I am the graphic designer. Camp Douglas will never fully get rid of me.
2. What is your job now?
I work full-time as the in-house designer for a real-estate developer designing things like signage, advertisements, websites and presentation centres. I also take on freelance jobs on the side, designing for camps and church groups.
3. What do you do as Camp Douglas' graphic designer?
I have been designing the brochures and t-shirts for the past 3 years. Every year I get to come up with a fresh aesthetic. I also work on advertisements and posters.
4. What do you want people to know about Camp Douglas?
Camp Douglas will always have a special place in my heart. It's where I felt safe and loved as an awkward child. As a teenager, it's where I learned to be a leader, and how to be responsible for more than myself. Everyone deserves to be a part of the Camp Douglas community.
Thanks for sharing with us Danika! Stay tuned in coming weeks for a sneak peek at Danika's design for the summer 2015 t-shirt!
