Cabin Leaders are responsible for constant care and supervision of campers throughout the week. Cabin Leaders are paired with a different partner each week. It is the Cabin Leader who will get to know the campers best by participating in all program activities, eating meals, and attending worship with campers. Cabin Leaders help, talk, laugh and share with campers. Cabin Leaders notice when camper needs are not being met and bring that to the attention of their supervisors. A comfort and enthusiasm for sharing faith with children is vital. Compassion, patience, flexibility, and a willingness to seek help from supervisors are essential. Cabin Leaders will lead program activities, including outdoor active games, imaginative games, and arts & crafts, and will lead worship activities for their cabin groups. Cabin Leaders are role models for all campers and are responsible for assisting new volunteers in learning how to cabin lead. Cabin Leaders must be prepared to lead sessions during LIT Camp. Cabin Leaders are responsible for their own transportation to a variety of locations around the Presbytery, as day camp moves from congregation to congregation each week.
