What is the purpose of Camp Douglas’s facilities? 

Camp Douglas belongs to the Presbytery of Westminster within the Presbyterian Church of Canada under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  The main purpose of the Camp’s facilities is to support the Children, Youth and Family camping ministry which occurs primarily during July and August.  The Camp is also available for rent to Presbyterian and other groups for the purposes of Christian education, retreats and meetings September to June.   

What does Camp Douglas have to offer? 

Camp Douglas is located near Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast of British Colombia. Access to Camp is via the BC Ferry system from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale followed by a short drive (or public transit and walk) to the Camp. The beautiful ten-acre property includes both ocean frontage, activity fields and a largearea of rainforest with trails and a meandering creek.  Our site offers many locations for private meditation as well as both indoor and outdoor meeting and activity spaces.  Although Camp Douglas is quiet and feels very secluded, it is located just a short drive from the communities of Gibsons and Sechelt where shopping, amenities and activities abound. 

Facilities 

Our facilities can accommodate up to about 85 overnight guests or 114 day use guests.  All buildings have heat and light. 

Facilities include:

Main Building - dining hall, kitchen, main washrooms and 2 meeting spaces.

Upper Retreat Centre – 6 bedrooms (3* per room with 1 bunk and 1 bed) and 2 washrooms.

Cabins – 6 rustic cabins (11* per cabin with 5 bunks and 1 bed).

Some additional accommodation is available including space for tenting & RV’s (no hookups are available).

Other Meeting spaces - The Schoolroom & Lower Retreat Centre 

*2 of our bedrooms have double beds suitable for married couples or families and 1 cabin sleeps 12. 

Wheelchair accessibility is limited.  The Main building, Upper Retreat Centre and 1 Cabin have ramp access. 

There is an onsite Caretaker to greet and provide an orientation, but otherwise, rental Groups should expect to be self sufficient.  Plan to bring your own linens (sleeping bags).  You must supply your own food to prepare meals using the commercial kitchen facilities in the Main Building.  Groups may also wish to bring their own AV and sound equipment.  Groups are expected to leave all facilities clean and in good order.  

Firewood is available and campfires are permitted in 2 outdoor locations except when prohibited by the Fire Department. 

Pets are not permitted.

Smoking or vaping is not permitted.

Alcohol, illegal drugs and gambling are forbidden.
